How come there not hose pipe ban as someone that lives by me can waste so much water empty a big swimming pool every few days and then filling it back up what a waste of water and Portsmouth Water board don’t do anything about I think it is a disgrace that they are a loud to do this

We are suffering from the Thatcher government legacy again!. Before she became Prime Minister, there was a plan to build a national grid for water, so water could be pumped to anywhere in the country. Then the utility companies were state owned. The Thatcher Government privatised all of the utility companies and we have suffered since.

I am served by Portsmouth Water (The Grove,Hill Head ,Fareham).

Please confirm that a hosepipe ban is not being introduced by Portsmouth Water in my area.

So far as their website says, Portsmouth Water who supplies Emsworth have asked people to use water wisely, but have not currently imposed a ban @ 1st Aug.

I have been reading all the comments on the many websites about the hose pip ban and I just can’t believe the way we have got into this position! How much water have the Water Companies saved from all the rain that we have had recently? Obviously not enough!
I would also be very interested to know what plans these incompetents have in place to supply all the TENS OF THOUSANDS of new homes that are going to be built in the next few years?
I expect that Scotland & Wales have millions of gallons to spare so why cant we put pipes in to carry water from there when needed? We get gas from Russia which is much further away than Scotland & Wales so whats the problem?
Also, are your customers going to get a rebate for all the water that they are being denied- I think not! I am disgusted by the situation that you have got yourselves into!
