Complaints about water companies increase

The Consumer Council for Water says that during the last financial year they received 12359 complaints about water companies which was an increase of 11% on the previous year.

United Utilities and Severn Trent Water saw the biggest rises and the Council said trust in the companies was “getting stretched” following hosepipe bans in the South and inflation busting price increases. No surprise then that the Council’s website has plenty of job vacancies.

What I’d like to know is what kind of response people have had when complaining to the Consumer Council for Water? Does it actually do any good?

Hi Ann – thanks for the comment.

I’m not in that area, so I’m afraid I wouldn’t know. Is it land belonging to the pub or maybe the local authority’s? If you could send me a photo to publish that would be brilliant.

Anyone else in that location cast any light on the matter?

I am sorry that I forgot to give more details regarding the location of the site I mentioned above. The Globe pub is situated on London Wall near Moorgate tube station.

Please can you explain how a sprinkler is being used on a mound of grass outside the Globe Pub in London? It has been running from before 10 am and still going now. What a waste of water- for a grotty piece of grass, which could easily be replaced with artificial grass. The only people that lounge about on it- I bet don’t have a water ban in place where they live. I look forward to hearing your response.
